This Dramatic Portrait
In the conflict between spirituality and money, it's a knockout win for materialism in Showalter's brilliantly over-the-top film adaptation of the disgraced televangelist plus her lawbreaking partner. Andrew Garfield plays the greedy Jim, who states at the beginning, “God does not want us to be poor,”. The couple commence monetising the people's religious faith. It's a spectacle of poor styling, excessive cosmetics and insincerity, however Chastain manages to show Tammy Faye in a likable light. October 14th, early morning, on Film4
